SPEECH AND PRIZE GIVING DAY AND PREFECTS INAGURATION
On 4 October 2019 was a day characterized by pomp and fanfare as we held most important day on the MTSS calendar of events, The Speech and Prize Giving Day and Prefects Inauguration.
This is a day that should remain etched in MTSS history as 95% of our parents and guardians graced the occasion. Words are not enough to thank you, our parents for blessing the event with your presence. We also appreciate and humbly acknowledge everyone who was in attendance including our sponsors, church representatives, neighboring school heads, members of the community as well as our suppliers and service providers.
The public or national examinations commenced on 23 September 2019 and ended on 22November 2019. We would like to convey our gratitude to our parents/ guardians for the support you rendered to our learners as the examinations were run smoothly with all our learners present for their papers
INTERNAL END OF YEAR EXAMINATIONS
To ensure assessment and evaluation of our learners, our internal examinations started on 11 November 2019 and ended on 27 November 2019. These examinations are very important to us as a school as they give us a reflection of what we are doing for the leaner as well as show us where we may be in need of adjustments as we endeavors to produce a learner who easily fits in the global village. Leaners also take checks and balances on their performance from the result they get.
SPORTS AND CLUBS:-We are proud to announce that one of our handball players Adelaide Mudzindiko was selected into the National team after scooping a gold medal in Gweru in National Youth Games held from 4 to 10 August 2019.Nkosiyapi scooped a silver medal at the same competitions. We then participated at the Cape Town competitions where we did exceptionally well. This is not a mean feat for MTSS. We are leaving our footprints wherever we set our feet.
THE DEBATE CLUB:- It is with so much pride that we celebrate our debate club which is Ghana bound after a very successful debating sessions. Our debate team is going to represent the nation at the Pan African Union Debate Championship from 8 to 16 December 2019. We thank God for this great success as we spread our wings and name into the continent. An indelible mark is going to be left, no doubt
SPORTS, ARTS AND LANGUAGE ACADEMY CENTER (SALAC):- As we broaden our horizons and grow and develop into a one stop well sought after school, MTSS has incubated a vibrant SALAC. This academy which is open to all age groups will be introduced during the holidays. It is going to be hub of talent identification and perfection, a world class academy which is going to change lives and empower our learners and the community. The MTSS SALAC is going to be spearheaded by experienced, versatile, diligent and well qualified local and global personal whose mandate is to produce excellent trainees who will impact their communities and the country at large. We thank God for His Vision and blessing of MTSS.
Due to the pragmatic nature of our national curriculum all learners are mandated to undertake or go for leadership and subjects specific trips. It is during such trips that problem solving and exploration skills are imparted to the learner, giving him/her life skills, grooming and etiquette just to mention a few activities among an array of them. As a school we therefore encourage our dear parents to support our 21st century learners
AGRICULTURE TRIPS TERM 1 2020
FORM 1- GWEBI COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE:-The form one agriculture learners will be visiting Gwebi College of Agriculture on 23 January 2020 as part of their practical and initiation to the subject
FORM 2- HENDERSON RESEARCH CENTRE
Our form 2 class of 2020 will tour Henderson Research Centre on 30 January 2020. This is an exploration and research tour for the learners which will give them an opportunity to discover new developments and innovations in the agricultural sector
FORM 3 SEEDCO TOUR
On 6 February 2020, our form 3 learners will travel to Seedco Headquarters to go and research on seed production
FORM 4 HATCLIFF TRIP
This trip is meant to prepare learners for their research projects and practicals and it shall be undertaken on 26 February 2020
GEOGRAPHY DEPARTMENT TRIPS
FORM 1METROLOGICAL TOUR-
In order to give the form one class an appreciation of climatic changes and weather forecasting, the learners are going to tour the Metrological Center on 13 February 2020
Form 3, 4 and lower 6 will tour one of the biggest estate in Zimbabwe, Glenara Estate on 2 March 2020
Form 2 class will go for a natural vegetation, Flora and Fauna tour at Mukuvisi Woodlands on 28 March 2020
Form 3, 4, L6, U6- This comprehensive trip is meant to equip leaners with environmental management skills and appreciation for environmental conservation. It will be undertaken on 4 April 2020
FORM 4 NATIONAL GALLERY TOUR-
On 26 February the form 4 class will undertake a journey for historical sources gathering at the National Art Gallery in Harare. This is meant to expose the learners to first-hand information or historical evidence. It also gives them opportunity to mix and mingle with resident historians at the gallery.
FORM 1 & 2 NATIONAL HEROES ACRE TOUR-
This trip is meant to expose leaners to the national heroes buried at the shrine. The trip is penned for 17 March 2020 and will also incorporate the English Language Department which will ask learners to compile comprehensive articles describing the national shrine and the heroes interred there.
FORM 3,4 AND 6 CHINHOYI CAVES TOUR-
On 26 March 2020 the three classes will tour Chinhoyi caves for its historical significance. The Shona Department will also be part and parcel of the tour as they seek to show learners the Shona Heritage, myths and taboos.
FORM 3 & 4 ZIMSFIM RADIO STATION TOUR-
In an endeavor to impart public speaking and speech skills in leaners, the department will take learners to tour ZIM FM studios. The tour is meant to inspire learners and enhance their oral communication skills
INTERNATIONAL TOURS TO EUROPE AND USA
This is a life changing experience for every learner who undertakes the tour as it exposes the learners to new culture, environment and the people as well. The international tour exposes the learner to new trends and prepares him/her for the global village.
We encourage parents/ guardians to try and give our learners the exposure which is definitely a turning point in their lives.
The trip fee is pegged at 280 USD per leaner to cater for the air ticket, visa, insurance, accommodation, food, activities, transport around the UK and Europe and other logistics.
FEES AND LEVIES
As a school, we strive to continue working diligently to bring out the excellent and rounded results in our learners. However, we need parents’ support to produce the expected excellent results. We expect fees to have been paid before schools open for the first term in January 2020 for the smooth running of our school.
We also thrive to keep our staff members motivated and provide the necessary resources so as to produce the expected EXCELLENT results. As a school, we have no other source of income except the fees and levies. Our fees are 200.00 usd per term.
